26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (September 19, 2018) – After a feature win and a podium finish to kick off the second half of the season two weeks ago at Show Low Speedway Park, Colton Hardy carried that momentum into Arizona Speedway on Saturday where he led all 25-laps to earn his fifth ASCS Southwest Region victory of the season.

Hardy kicked off Saturday’s event with a heat race win from the pole position, earning him a spot in the feature redraw where he drew the four.

“We got off to a really good start and got to second right away and drove around the leader coming off of turn four to take the lead by the end of lap one,” Hardy explained. “After taking the lead, I knew I needed to minimize my mistakes and just run smooth, comfortable laps.”

While Hardy was working his way through lap traffic, the only caution flag of the night flew with nine laps to go. Hardy was able to get off to clean start when racing resumed, creating a gap to second on his way to his fifth feature win in eleven starts with the ASCS Southwest Region this season.

“This year has been amazing. The car is back to 100%, and it keeps our confidence high going into the next few months of racing,” he said. “I can’t thank everyone enough for their help, Nate, AJ, Randy, Aaron, and Ted work hard every night to make sure the car is where it needs to be when it hits the track.”

Hardy currently sits second in the ASCS Southwest Region standings only 17-points back of the lead with four races remaining.

Hardy will shed the wings this weekend with the USAC Southwest Series at Canyon Speedway Park’s Sands Chevrolet Southwest Championships Friday and Saturday.

Colton Hardy would like to thank Diamond Mechanical, A & C Remodeling, Engler Machine and Tools, CSI Shocks by Factor One, Schoenfeld Headers, Marks Bolts, Nuts & Surplus, M & J Trophies and Apparel, Bandit Racing, Borello Race Engines, and Highline Clothing Co. for their continued support.
