26 Promotions – Queen Creek, AZ – (September 18, 2018) – Alex Pettas scored his ninth top-ten finish with the ASCS Southwest Region Saturday as the series returned to Arizona Speedway for the first time since early July.

A 38 in pill draw to open the evening would see Pettas line up on the inside of the third row in the second heat. Pettas would get hung up at the start, falling back a position to finish sixth.

Pettas’ six-place result in the heat would line him up eleventh to start the 25-lap feature.

“We had a pretty balanced car for the entire feature,” he said. “Early in the race, we picked up most of our spots and we had a long stretch in the middle of the feature where we were in clean air, and we really got rolling. A late caution and a few lapped cars ended our momentum.”

Pettas was able to work his way from eleventh to seventh to secure the night’s Hard Charger Award to go along with his ninth top-ten finish of the season.

“We owe a huge thanks to Kyle Shipley, Collin Bender, and Brandy who came out to crew as well as Cody and Mack who were taking care of the second car. Thanks to all of our partners and to Jonah Trussel for the great track conditions,” said Pettas. “I’d also like to thank Ron Gilson, Ben Thrasher, and Patrick Shaw for the great photos that they capture. Most of all thank you to my wife, Michelle, for the patience and support with our brand-new daughter.”

Pettas will be back in action with the ASCS Southwest Series on October 6th at Arizona Speedway.

Alex Pettas would like to thank Lorri Keough, Engler Machine & Tool, Matt Hummell at FK Indy, Collin Bender with Desert Racing Design, Kaleb Hart with Triple X Race Cars, Bernie S. with Indy Race Parts, the team at Ti64 Titanium, Charles Davis Jr. with Conroy “Pneu” Control, Paint by Steve and Bell Helmets, Jonah Trussel with Arizona Speedway, and Buster L. with 6x Specialties for their continued support.
